Oct 29, 2013 Gemini is missing a trick here; get a decent Traktor mapping done with half-decent jogwheel control (always the sticking point with non-Native Instruments Traktor-mapped controllers), and get it prominently displayed on the website, and the G4V could win a lot of fans from people who don’t want to use it with Virtual DJ. Gemini Gv Series G4v Djay Pro Mapping Software
There is nothing wrong with going with the lower end gear if that is what suits you but you can't expect higher end functions out of lower end gear.
It says right on the box that it works with VDJ so there should absolutely be no surprise that it doesn't work with Serato. You CAN map your controller to SDJ as long as it supports Midi. Obviously the functions it controls will be limited but remember you get what you paid for.
Lastly (and this is the hardest part to say) the gear Gemini makes is not what anyone would call quality gear. This would cause nothing but headaches for Serato if they decided to support gear that will eventually fail. At the time of said controllers demise the fingers would then be pointed at Serato as well as Gemini which would in turn give Serato the same reputation Gemini has earned themselves.
The majority of this is based on opinion but I promise you if it is not entirely accurate it is not far off.

Well, some of the changes you pointed out are pretty significant. Not having meters, smaller jogs, but then it DOES have RGB pads.
I am sure there is a Gemini fan out there that can help answer your question.
Greetinx and welcome to the forum.
Gemini fan here! (Thanks for the intro Chuck) I own the G2V (basically the same as the G4V with 2 channels) The advantages the Slate has are the colored pads its lighter, smaller, and the layout for headphone and other audio jacks are on the side which may not be a plus depending on your set up. The G4V has a full metal enclosure so it is heavier but it feels really solid. although multi colored pads would be nice you don’t really need them. The GV series also has more buttons and controls which add more value especially if you don’t mind a little mapping. It also has xlr outputs which the slate does not.
Long story short the slate seems like a lower level controller focused at the Mixtrack pro level where it seems quite capable. The G4V, on the other hand, is more of a mid-range budget pro controller.
No problem glad to help when I can. Looking at the website the RMX looks interesting
Slate 4 is the Gemini version of the Mixtrack Quad but at the price of the Mixtrack Pro II.
And as always with Gemini with probably less reliable quality control and non-existent support.
You always get what you pay for, there are no miracles…well you already got a tonne of info about g2v & g4v (virtually identical) in your previous thread… could you have not simply added the slate 4 to the existing thread for comparison? just saying…
